🇧🇷 Guilherme Arantes é um dos colossais da MPB, teve suas famosíssimas canções gravadas por inúmeros cantores. Seu trabalho instrumental é raro mas põe em evidência o excelente compositor que ele é. Seu álbum de solos de piano não tem nada de ritmos brasileiros, nem o estilo “Anos 80” (largamente determinado pelo próprio Guilherme Arantes), é essencialmente New Age, elegante e merece atenção. Deliciosa também a parceria do Uakti (outro grupo de tendências New Age) com Túlio Mourão para uma moda de viola de Tavinho. E já que falamos dos Anos 80, um dos melhores representantes instrumentais daquela sonoridade é o Cama de Gato, com um tema lindo e jovial de seu brilhante baixista, Arthur Maia.

🇬🇧 Guilherme Arantes is amongst the Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) colossus. Many famous singers recorded his songs. His pure instrumental works are rare but puts in evidence the excellent composer he is. His piano solo album has nothing about Brazilian rhythms nor the 80’s music style (widely determined by Guilherme Arantes himself), is essentially New Age, elegant and deserves our attention. Also tasty is the partnership between Tulio Mourão and Uakti (another group with New Age tendencies) for a viola theme by Tavinho Moura. And since we cited the 80’s, we bring Cama de Gato as one the best instrumental representatives of that picturesque sound style, featuring a sticky and lively theme by their brilliant bass player, Arthur Maia.
